Thank you celebration for Cactus Warriors

By November 12, 2022Latest News

Most of our local properties, roadsides and Maldon Historic Reserve are now free of large Wheel Cactus infestations. This is thanks to many volunteers, landowners and contractors who have all been helping to destroy this noxious weed. Again, this year the Cactus Warriors have achieved a great deal, assisting and advising new landowners, increasing awareness in the district and continuing to help Parks Victoria to control infestations in our wonderful local reserve.

The Tarrangower Cactus Control Group wishes to reward all these warriors for their hard work and wonderful results. On Sunday 27th November we’ll be gathering together for an end-of-season picnic lunch to celebrate our achievements, at the Woolshed Bay area at Cairn Curran Reservoir. Lunch will be at 12noon; please RSVP to info@cactuswarriors.com by 21st November, especially with specific dietary requirements.

We invite all past, present and future ‘cactus warriors’ to join us. We’ll have a very quick AGM beforehand at 11:30 am, which is not compulsory but everyone is welcome to attend. A few current committee members will be announcing their retirement, so please also consider nominating to join our team if you’re interested in maintaining our war on Wheel Cactus.
