Our volunteers continue to assist Parks Victoria to control Wheel Cactus infestations in Maldon Historic Reserve. Many thanks to our Cactus Warrior volunteers who spent a recent Sunday morning helping to destroy this invasive weed in our wonderful local reserve. The work is challenging, even treacherous, but the rewards are plenty; stunning views, gorgeous spring wildflowers and lots of bird song.
Our volunteers are also still available to assist any new landowners in the district to start controlling their infestations. Please contact the TGGC if you need advice and assistance, and we can organise a working bee on your property.
The TCCG still has free equipment loans to help encourage landowners to continue their war on Wheel Cactus. Please contact us if you need to replace an old injector kit, or can return one for us to repair and reuse.
